Description
The Manfrotto 425B Mega Boom is the largest boom in Manfrotto's range, built for lighting and camera positions that a standard C-stand arm simply can't reach. Extending to 12ft, it lets you get a light, small camera or other fixture directly overhead or out over a set without a stand in the shot.
All the movement, pan, tilt, rotation and the telescopic extension itself, is controlled through geared crank handles, so you can make fine adjustments smoothly rather than fighting a stiff friction arm. The geared tilt runs from +30° to -40°, giving precise control over the angle even with a load mounted at full extension.
Payload drops as you extend it, from 66lb at minimum extension down to 13.23lb at full 12ft reach, so it's worth planning what you're mounting and how far out you need it before booking. The hire includes a sandbag for counterweighting, which is essential for keeping the rig stable at extension. Dual Junior and Baby receptors mean it takes standard grip and lighting fittings without needing an adapter. Request a quote to add it to your grip kit list.
