Description

The Atomos Sumo PRO-19 puts 3 jobs into 1 case: a large 4K reference monitor, a multi-format recorder and a 4-input switcher. It’s built for video village, director’s monitoring and any shoot where you want the picture big, bright and recorded at the same time.

‍

The main advantage is recording straight to cards. You don’t need a separate recorder in the chain. Feed in up to 4 cameras, cut between them live, and the Sumo records every camera as its own ISO alongside the programme mix. Your editor gets every angle plus a ready-made cut, which makes it a strong fit for multi-camera events, interviews, live-to-tape shoots and the kind of runway shows we regularly supply kit for.

‍

It covers the rest of the chain as well. The 2 XLR inputs with phantom power let you record proper sound alongside the picture, and AirGlu keeps timecode in sync across cameras. NDI and camera-to-cloud upload help when footage needs to reach the edit fast.

‍

The hire includes the monitor, power supply, IEC cable, desktop feet, battery plate mount, Wi-Fi and AirGlu antennas, antenna caps, screen cloth, Allen key and quick start guide, all in a Peli case. CFexpress cards are available as an optional extra. For battery power, add a kit from our V-mount batteries range. To compare screen sizes, browse our full monitors range or the rest of our Atomos kit. Ready to book? Request a quote and we’ll put your kit list together.

FAQs

Can the Atomos Sumo PRO-19 record footage? Yes, it records internally to CFexpress Type B cards at up to 8K30, in ProRes, ProRes RAW, Avid DNx and H.265. It can also record to USB-C drives. CFexpress cards aren’t included as standard but can be added to your hire as an optional extra.

‍

Can it switch between cameras? Yes, it takes up to 4 camera inputs (2x 12G-SDI, 2x 3G-SDI and 1x HDMI) and lets you cut between them live from the touchscreen. It records each camera as an isolated feed plus a 5th programme output, so you keep every angle for the edit.

‍

How is the Sumo PRO-19 powered? It runs from the included mains power supply, or from a battery using the supplied battery plate mount. Batteries aren’t included with the monitor and are hired as a separate item.

‍

What’s the difference between the Sumo PRO-19 and the Atomos Shogun Inferno? The Sumo PRO-19 is a 19" production monitor with switching and multi-camera ISO recording. The Shogun Inferno is a 7" on-camera monitor-recorder for a single camera. Choose the Sumo for video village or multi-camera work, and the Shogun Inferno when you want recording and monitoring mounted on the camera itself.
