Description
The DZOFILM Pictor Zoom 14-30mm T2.8 is the wide end of DZOFILM's Super 35 cine zoom line, built for productions that need genuine wide coverage without carrying a bag of primes. At 14mm it gets you an extreme wide angle for big establishing shots and tight interiors, and it zooms through to a standard 30mm wide without losing focus along the way.
That parfocal design is the reason to reach for a zoom over a prime here. You can push in or pull back mid-take and stay in focus, which matters on a live event, a documentary set-up, or any shot where reframing on the fly beats stopping to swap lenses. The floating-element focus design keeps breathing close to nothing, so a push doesn't visibly shift the image the way it would on a stills zoom.
It shares its gearing and 95mm front diameter with the rest of the Pictor set, the 20-55mm and 50-125mm zooms, so if your production needs to cover wide through to telephoto, all three cut together with matching mechanics and a consistent look.
As a PL-mount lens it fits Super 35 cine bodies natively. Pair it with the rest of the PL-mount lenses range if your kit list needs primes alongside it. Hire includes the lens with front and rear caps. Request a quote to build your kit list.
FAQs
What cameras does the Pictor 14-30mm work with? It's a PL-mount lens covering a Super 35 image circle, so it fits Super 35 cine cameras and crop-sensor modes on full-frame bodies. Check your camera's sensor mode before booking, since it's not built to cover a full-frame sensor without cropping in.
What does "parfocal" mean, and why does it matter? A parfocal zoom holds focus as you zoom in or out, unlike a stills zoom where you need to refocus after reframing. That means you can push in or pull back mid-shot and stay sharp, which is a real advantage on live events, documentary and any set-up where you're reframing on the move.
Is this a full-frame or Super 35 lens? Super 35. It covers a Super 35 image circle rather than full-frame, so it's built for Super 35 cine cameras or the crop mode on a full-frame body. If you need full-frame coverage, our full-frame VESPID primes are the better fit.
What's included with the hire? The hire includes the DZOFILM Pictor Zoom 14-30mm T2.8 lens, a front lens cap and a rear lens cap. Matte boxes, filters, adapters and follow-focus units are separate line items, so let us know your rig and we'll put together the full kit.
