For Red Nose Day 2026, we supplied a full camera, sound and crew package for one of the VTs in the BBC's Comic Relief night. 1 shoot day, 3 crew, and multiple camera angles, all from one supplier.
The Brief
The production needed kit and crew for a single shoot day on March 10, 2026. The setup called for a main camera, several smaller angles (including a camera hidden in a pram), full radio mic coverage, and in-ear monitoring for talent.
Everything had to stay in sync across every camera and the sound recorder, ready for a quick turnaround in the edit.
The Crew
We supplied 3 freelance crew members alongside the kit:
- Camera operator
- Camera assistant
- Sound recordist

How It Came Together
The FX9 and CN7 handled the main coverage. The 17-120mm range goes from wide to tight without a lens change, and the Vocas adapter puts the PL-mount CN7 on the FX9's E-mount.
The FX3 with wide G Master glass gave a second angle. The GoPros and the pram hide covered the spots a full-size camera can't go, or shouldn't be seen.
With that many cameras rolling, sync matters. The Lockit boxes kept timecode matched across the cameras and the 788T, so the edit could line everything up without guesswork.
Kit and crew came from one place, with one point of contact for the whole day. That's how we think a shoot should run: no juggling separate suppliers for cameras, sound and people.
