  • Large-format 4.5K sensor (36.7mm x 25.54mm), roughly twice the area of Super 35, for shallower depth of field and stronger subject separation
  • 14+ stops of dynamic range, among the highest of any production camera, with ARRI's established colour science and natural skin tones
  • Native LPL mount with PL-to-LPL adapter included, so our full range of PL lenses fits straight on
  • Open Gate, 16:9 and 2.39:1 anamorphic modes, recording ARRIRAW or ProRes for maximum flexibility in post
  • Frame rates up to 90fps, depending on sensor mode, for smooth slow motion and high frame rate work
  • Hired fully rigged: viewfinder, Codex media, power distribution, support rods and rear accessory bracket all included
  • Compact Mini form factor, built for handheld and gimbal work despite the large-format sensor

Description

The ARRI Alexa Mini LF combines the large-format sensor of the Alexa LF with the compact body of the original Alexa Mini, giving you ARRI's large-format image quality without the size and weight of a full studio camera. The bigger sensor, roughly twice the area of Super 35, delivers a shallower depth of field and a wider field of view at the same framing, which is why productions reach for it specifically when the large-format look matters to the story.

Dynamic range is the other reason it's the standard against which other cinema cameras get measured. At 14+ stops, it holds detail in highlights and shadows that lets you expose with confidence on set and gives you real room to grade in post, alongside ARRI's colour science, prized for natural, accurate skin tones straight out of camera.

Our Alexa Mini LF goes out as a complete rigged package rather than a bare body. That means a viewfinder with brackets and cable, a Codex Compact Drive with reader, power distribution through a Bebop V-Mount splitting box, a full set of 15mm and 19mm support bars with adapters, side and rear accessory brackets, a top handle and bottom dovetail plate, and it all travels in a flight case. You're set up to shoot on arrival rather than sourcing support gear separately.

The camera's native LPL mount is built for large-format lenses, but the included PL-to-LPL adapter means our full PL-mount lenses range fits straight on, so you're not limited to specialist large-format glass. FAQs

Does the Alexa Mini LF use PL mount lenses? Its native mount is LPL, ARRI's large-format mount, but the hire includes a PL-to-LPL adapter, so our full range of PL-mount lenses works on it without issue.

What does "large-format" actually mean for the image? The sensor is roughly twice the area of a standard Super 35 cinema sensor, which gives you a shallower depth of field, stronger subject separation and a wider field of view at the same framing. It's a different look from Super 35, not just a bigger file.

How much dynamic range does it have? ARRI rates it at 14+ stops, among the highest of any production camera, giving you real flexibility to expose on set and grade with confidence in post without losing detail in highlights or shadows.

What's included with the hire? The hire includes the camera body with LPL mount and PL-to-LPL adapter, viewfinder with cable and brackets, a 1TB Codex Compact Drive with reader, a Bebop V-Mount power splitting box, a full set of 15mm and 19mm support bars and adapters, bridge plate, side and rear accessory brackets, top handle, bottom dovetail plate and connecting cables, all in a flight case. Lenses, batteries and additional media are separate line items.
